Calahonda was developed specifically to combine rural and coastal life. As a result, there are few high-rise apartment buildings in Calahonda, mostly villas and townhouses. The amenities in Calahonda are all located within easy walking distance. Coin is situated in the fertile valley of the rio Grande aprox. 21 Km inland from Marbella and there is little doubt that a community of some kind existed on the spot long before the Roman conquest.
