Murcia University on the Costa Calida Murcia University was built in 1272, during the reign of Alfonso X, El Sabio. However the university had a tumultuous start and disappeared shortly after its creation. The University of Murcia of today was founded in 1915 and integrated into the Colegio de La Merced which has been transformed into the Law Faculty.
