The marina lies below apartment blocks built on the side of the high cliffs, which are conspicuous from far away. The entrance is narrow, and yachts must proceed around the western end of the outer breakwater. It is not advisable to enter in rough weather, although once inside the marina is well-protected.
On arrival, visiting yachts should stop at the reception dock by the control tower, on the north side of the entrance. All formalities will be carried out there, including clearance for yachts arriving from overseas. The marina office, located in the control tower, is open 0900-1900 daily including Sundays. The marina operates a 24 hour watch on VHF channel 9.
This small marina is located 6 miles south of Santa Cruz and is an excellent base from which to explore Santa Cruz. The marina is very quiet on weekdays and security is very good. Because of its isolation, the marina is provided with everything essential, which includes a pharmacy and even a chapel. Charges include the use of water and electricity, which are at each pontoon and also on the main dock. There are large discounts if the docking is paid in advance for longer stays. Long term storage space is also available on the main quay.
