Tarifa Port, because of its strategic location is managed in conjunction with the Port Authority of Algeciras Bay. As well as being a through route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean and on to the Far east, the Tarifa and the Port of Algeciras Bay lie on the crossroads of the busiest sea-lanes that use the Suez canal. It is a bridge between two continents and at the crux of North-South and East-West traffic routes.
