Reus airport owes a lot to Ryanair who have started offering a selection of low cost flights here from the UK and Ireland.
Over the busy summer months the airport also handles a large number of flights from the major charter airlines from all over Europe.
Ryanair are the company who are really driving passenger numbers though and they now offer a regular service to Reus Airport from Liverpool, Luton and Stansted.
Reus also offers an alternative to Barcelona or Girona Airport as Barcelona is only around 120 kms north of Reus and can be driven in less than 2 hours.
Reus Airport has a limited number of services on offer and doesnt have a train service. You will find a number of cafes and bars serving drinks and snacks throughout the day and a small number of shops that will keep you occupied before you fly.
The nearest large tourist resort to Reus Airport is Salou which is only around 15kms away. Salou is a bustling holiday resort that is popular with the British and German tourists and from here you can easy reach Port Aventura which is one of Europes largest theme parks.
If you are looking to tour the Costa Dorada or Costa Brava then you could also fly into Girona Airport, slowly drive south and then head back home out of Reus Airport.
Doing this trip will also allow you stay in Barcelona for a few days.
