Located on the southern most point of Spain, Tarifa is a beach lovers paradise. In fact the whole Costa de Luz is a largely unspoilt stretch of coastline that has been ignored by the mass tourism that has blighted many other parts of Spain.

More and more people are starting to discover the Costa de la Luz and Tarifa in particular. If you are on holiday in southern Spain and staying anywhere along the Costa del Sol then I would recommend a visit to Tarifa, even if its just for the day.

When I traveled to Tarifa I was awestruck at the views towards Africa. There are points when the stretch of sea between Tarifa and Africa seems to be no wider than a few hundred yards.

You can get to Tarifa by flying into Jerez Airport, Seville Airport or Malaga Airport. The nearest Airport to Tarifa is Jerez which is around 60 minutes away. The only problem with Jerez and Seville is that they have a limited number of direct flights from the UK.

Malaga on the other hand receives a large number of flights from over 20 UK airports throughout the year. The only problem with flying into Malaga is that you will need to drive for 2 to 2½ hours to get to Tarifa.

You transport options to and from any of the airports to Tarifa are limited. The best advice is to simply catch a taxi or drive your own hire car. You will probably find that the costs of a rentacar are cheaper than the costs of return taxis.
