Both the capital of Fuerteventura, Puerto Del Rosario and the main, busy resort of Caleta de Fuste are close to the main Fuerteventura Airport.
The Airport is on the edge of the Island, right next to the sea and as you approach for the first time you get a wonderful view of the blue, clear water washing against this fabulous Island.
Fuerteventura Airport is a clean and modern airport and is both small and easy to get around. After you have landed you will either walk through into the baggage hall or a bus will come to your plane and transfer you to your waiting luggage.
There is a selection of places to eat and drink at the airport and although there are only a few shops there is plenty to keep you occupied during your brief stay.
You will easily find both English and German newspapers and magazines not only in the airport but in the main resorts and towns all over the island. Many of the English newspapers are actually printed on the Island so you will be reading the same news as back in the UK.
You can also find the usual cigarette and alcohol shops at Fuerteventura Airport but you may find that it is cheaper to purchase these items at the local supermarkets before you come back to the airport.
Duty free allowances in Fuerteventura are different than those throughout the EU so be sure to check how many cigarettes you are allowed to take home before you buy.
The best way to get to and from Fuerteventura Airport is by rent a car. This option also gives you the perfect excuse to get out and see more of the island than just the resort that you are staying in.
We have found that the best rates for Fuerteventura rentacar can be found at carhire.es.
