Driving on the Costa del Sol is not as scary as it used to be. The roads have improved and the new E15/A-7 autopista that stretches from Malaga to Gibraltar has not only speeded up the travel time along the coast but it has made it a far safer drive as well.
Our top tip and leading piece of advice for any car driver is to plan your route. If you are staying between Fuengirola and Gibraltar then take the Toll Road as well. The costs are ¬3.20 in the winter and ¬5.15 in the summer but you know that the money is well spent when you see an empty road with no hold ups!
