The Costa de la Luz stretches from Portugal down to Tarifa and the Straits of Gibraltar. The entire coastline is 300 kms long and includes the famous Port of Cadiz along with Tarifa, Chiclana de la Frontera and Huelva.
Very few people outside of Spain have heard of the Costa de La Luz and you will find it largely unspoilt and untouched by package tourism or over devlopment.
Tarifa and its wonderful beaches is a huge draw for Kite surfers and Windsurfers from around the world. It has several schools teaching both sports and some of the longest, sandiest stretches of beaches in the whole of Spain.
In order to get to the Costa de la Luz from anywhere in the UK or Europe you need to fly into Jerez, Seville or Malaga Airport.
The airport in Jerez is the closest to the Costa de la Luz but has a really limited number of flights, Ryanair for example fly here but only from Stansted in the UK.
Malaga on the other hand is Spains fourth busiest airport and has 100s of flights from the UK and Europe every day. The only problem with Malaga is that it is a two hour drive from Tarifa on the Costa de la Luz and 265 kms from Cadiz.
Your transport options for getting from any of the airports and down to the coast are a little limited. There are no trains and the bus service can involve several changes. By far the easiest and cheapest way of getting from the Airport to the Costa de la Luz is via a rentacar.
A car will also give you the chance to explore this beautiful and relatively untouched part of Spain.
We have found Car-Hire.es that normally offer the bets prices for all Costa de la Luz rentacar.
