Approximately 190 miles in length, the Archipelago of the Balearic Islands can be found just off the east coast of Spain, slap bang in the middle of the Mediterranean.
The best known islands are Mallorca (Majorca) and Ibiza but many tourists also head for the lesser known islands of Menorca (Minorca) and Formentera.
You can find International Airports on three of the main islands and there are a huge selection of flights from the UK and Europe that arrive in the Balearics each day.
You can also reach the Balearics via ferry from Barcelona and Denia. In fact many people who prefer to drive for the entire holiday can head to Spain via France or from the busy ports of Bilbao or Santander and head to Barcelona to take their car on the ferry for the 8 hour journey.
Each of the islands has its own good and bad points but on the whole the Balearics offer some wonderful scenery, great beaches and coves and some blue, crystal clear waters that are just waiting to be jumped into.
Accommodation is easy to find on the Balearic Islands and there are Hotels and apartments to suit every pocket and budget. In fact Ibiza offers some of the smartest, trendiest and wonderful ?Boutique Hotels? in Europe.
In our opinion the greatest way to see all the things that the Balearic Islands offer is to book a rent a car and to spend at least a little time exploring the nooks and crannies of the island that you are staying on.
For the best deals on all cars and all Balearic Islands we recommend obtaining a quote from our preferred partners Car-Hire.es
