(Barcelona) Oak House school is an independent non-profit making co-educational day school founded in 1968. A Board of Trustees is elected by the parents association and they, with the Head , are responsible for running the school.
The school bears the official Spanish title of a "Mixed Foreign School" according to a Government decree (BOE 25/10/83). This title means that it can accept both Spanish and non-Spanish children, whose qualifications and studies are then automatically convalidated to conform to the Spanish Education system.
Oak House School is a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABBS). This organization facilitates contact and interchange of ideas between the Bristish Schools in Spain. Oak House organizes and attends various seminars and conferences for teachers, in order to keep up to date with all new educational trends emerging around the world in schools like ours. These contacts enable us to give advice to parents who for private or professional reasons have to move to another city or country and need to choose another school for their child.
In the Secondary Department, OAK HOUSE (CASA DEL ROURE) is an independent school for 360 pupils officially recognised by the Department of Education of the Catalan Government (La Generalitat). The school teaches "E.S.O." (Obligatory Secondary Education) to pupils from 12 to 16 years of age and the "Bachilleratos" from 16 to 18 years of age. The school is run by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation: seven parents elected by a General Assembly.
