In this area two fragile ecosystems converge: the dunes and that of humid areas. Excursions on foot or on horseback from Ca'n Picafort to Son Serra crossing Son Real along the coastline are very much recommended. The coast in the region has sandy beaches alternating with rocky areas and is a well conserved example of the original Mallorcan coastline prior to the tourist development. If you're sailing in this area its well worth a visit !!
This piece of the island is home to 4 extraordinary golf clubs, all of which are well worth trying during your stay. One of the best courses in Palma de Mallorca, Capdepera Golf, is a beautiful course with six lakes and lies hidden in a spectacular valley surrounded by mountains. Club de Golf Son Servera is a 9-hole course with well preserved fairways and fast greens totally surrounded by pine trees. Pula Golf is a very demanding course, while Canyamel Golf on the far east is an entertaining course while at the same time offering a degree of difficulty.
