This is the best natural harbour on the island, with a seabed of mainly mud or sand. It is a popular anchorage - although you may be charged a small amount for your stay. The two floating pontoons near the fishing quay now offer showers as well as water and electricity, but they can become untenable in strong SW winds. The Club Nautico itself, at the end of the bay, offers a tranquil setting, but is not very deep. In some areas it has 3 metres of water, but more generally 2 metres. There are now two or three places where small to medium sized craft can haul out here, and although the town has an insular feeling about it, there are several yacht service companies here, and painting and minor repairs can be effected.
