This part of the Atlantic Andalucian coastline, vibrant with contrasts provides the backdrop to Chipiona Marina. It is situated on the left bank of the mouth of the river Guadalquívir, also known as Broa de Sanlúcar.
Craft coming from the Straits should leave the Salmedina buoy to starboard, and then take a 67º course as far as the transit between buoy no.1 of the buoyed Puerto de Sevilla fairway, known as 'El Perro", and the green light of Chipiona Port. At this point vessels can head straight for the marina. This marina is very near the sea, so that access is very much determined by the tidal currents and swell of the third and fourth quadrants.
The marina has a tidal range of 3.4 metres and provides pontoons for mooring. Its location makes it the ideal call of port for those intending to sail to Sevilla, which is 54 miles upstream, and for those making for the open sea.
