If you want to learn the Spanish language, Mallorca is an excellent choice. And if you want to do a Spanish course, IH Palma de Mallorca is one of the longest established and most successful Spanish language schools in Spain. The school is truly an international house - full of students from all over the world.
IH Palma was established in 1982 and, like IH Barcelona, has 4 main areas of activity:
1) Teaching Spanish to students from all over the world;
2) Teaching English, German, and French to the local population;
3) Training teachers of English;
4) Sending students from Spain to study languages abroad.
The school has a staff of between 15-20 and is widely considered to be the leading language school on the island.
IH Palma has recently moved into a large, elegant building in the very center of the old city, on the Plaza del Cort, immediately opposite the city hall. The Plaza del Cort is one of the cities oldest, busiest and most attractive squares. Apart from the elegance and grandeur of its buildings, the square also contains an extraordinarily beautiful olive tree, which is said to be several centuries old. IH Palma occupies one of the most prestigious buildings on the square. The school has its own street level entrance from where students can take a lift or the stairs up to the main reception area on the first floor. The school occupies all 4 floors of the building and has 20 air-conditioned classrooms, as well as a number of offices and recreational areas including a computer lab which students are able to use either before or after class.
