The hull varies in thickness from 5083 20mm at the keel, to 6mm at the gunwales. 5083 is considered the best grade of aluminum for sea purposes. The frames are made up with 6061 grade u-channels which doubly reinforces the hull. The decks consist of various diameters of aluminum plate, up to 20mm, e.g. near the windlass, to 4.5mm. Above the aluminum plate is epoxy-saturated plywood that is bolted to the metal plate. Burmese teak is side screwed to the plywood to provide a yacht finish.
