Founded in 1990, Guadalhorce is located about 8 kilometres land inwards west of Málaga. The fairways on the front 9 are tracing the contours of the undulated area while the back 9 is sited in an area where some earth movement was necessary resulting in a different kind of course with tropical vegetation raised greens and lakes. Both the front and back nine have two shared greens.
Guadalhorce, designed by Kosti Kuronen, has a magnificent Andalucian style clubhouse and offers several other facilities like tennis courts, a swimming pool and a sauna. The course was the venue for the 1999 Spanish Professional Golfer's Championship.
