Corralejo, once a small fishing community that has grown into the islands main resort. A favourite with professional wind surfers and holiday makers alike it has almost 10 km of beach which in places is over 3 km wide, the sea is sparkling and crystal clear. The resort is surrounded by the famous desert like sand dunes so indicative of Fuerteventura. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets and a wide selection of bars and restaurants. Not a good choice for families with young children sea bathing is not recommended, dangerous currents and strong winds.
