UK TV sets in Spain

Subject: Can we use our UK sets in Spain with UK sat dish ?

Im using a settop arial (with power) and I can get sound with no picture which is very good, then using the fine tune I can get a really good picture and no sound. Does this mean my TV (bought around a year ago) is not compatable here in Spain (Barcelona)

I beleive that certain TV's can pick up Spanish TV sound as it is different to UK.Can you tell me what spec to look for ?? Thanks again
User Profile Brenn Posts 1 Level New Member		Posted Fri Jul 2003 10:08:06 We have just sold our house and are going over to look at property in Spain, we are looking in the area between Alicante and Almeria.But I am anxious to be able to have a phone line for the use of the net, and contact with family. Something I have looked at,does not yet have a landline connected, although I'm told the fittings are in place in the area but awaiting permission for the line to cross certain properties.The people living in that particular area all use mobiles, so this putting me off this development. This is not far from Albox, can anyone give me any info on this.We would much appreciate any help or advice.

My prefence for broadband provider is definatly Uni2. www.uni2.es. At the lower end of the market, Spantel are offering ADSL from €10 a month www.spantel.es, but it does come with strings attached. Bear in mind though that All broadband in spain ( except some major metropolitan areas such as madrid, Barcelona etc ) uses Telefonica's network and there are many providers/resellers with many levels of service and pricing

UK TV sets do work in spain as do Sky digital decoders. You can also receive the free to air channels as you would in th UK. If you want the Sky subsciption package you will require a UK adress and UK bank account or credit card. Sky is not 'officially' available in Spain but are many companies that offer installation. You will need somebody to set up the dish for you, which could be a bit tricky if you are in an apartement building or a mountainous area.
