Note that the Spanish telephone system is wired differently than in the UK - so you will need to use an adapter with a ring circuit, otherwise, well, no ring.

Hi Dolores and welcome to SPF.
Your UK phone will work in spain, but you will need to change the connector. English telephones use RJ65 whilst Spain and most of the rest of the world use RJ11. This can be done by re-crimping the cable or buying an adapter ( RJ65 to RJ11 ). A hardware store or telephone/computer shop can re-crimp the cable for you or sell you the adapter.
If the phone is powered, eg. a portable you will need to change the power plug too, or use an adaqpter.

Moving to Spain early next year. Can I use my UK telephones in Spain, i.e. are the plugs the same?
