There are so many books covering this same subject of the realised dream to move abroad and buy a crumbling farmhouse...but this is well written, extremely engaging and a very entertaining read. It's a story that involves you so well with it's characters and the landscape that you can easily imagine being there amongst it all. You cannot put it down until finishing it and when you want more, Parrot in the Pepper Tree picks up the tale where Chris Stewart left off. The only problem being that when you finish the sequel, you wish there was a third! Great holiday reads; witty, engaging, lively and genuinely heartwarming and funny.
This book is an intriguing look in to the switch from life in the husstle of the UK to a hillside/ riverbank in the middle of almost no where. the locals, the problems, the community, the visitiors and the arrival of a new member to the family.
A good read for a Sunday afternoon or to tuck up on any night of the week with. www.spanishpropertyforums.com/driving_over_lemons.cfm
