When moving to Spain, all the books recommend you get advice on ensuring you make the best of the British and/or Spanish tax systems. Anyone know any British tax experts who also understand Spanish tax so that I can consult them before I retire there in September?
My two friends and I are looking to buy a house for permanent residence (I can't stand the weather in England anymore - it's the end of July and been raining all week), and we would like to know how much is considered to be a sufficient amount of money on which to live in order to move there without having to find work for a while. We should have the equivalent of about £20,000 each after purchasing a property outright. We are hoping to be able to have a reasonable 'settling in' period before we have to find jobs (each of us has various skills). Would we be allowed to do this? We do intend to pay national insurance in order to get health services, and any due taxes.
