We have been thinking of moving to Spain permanently later this year and think that Barbate looks suitable for us. Does anybody have any knowledge? Any ex-pats living in this area? Any work for quality carpenter/kitchen fitter? Also somone said the weather can be too windy in that area? Any help gratefully accepted.
My experience of Spains Atlantic Coast is very limited -- I do know that it is somewhat cheaper than the traditional Costa's, but prices are risng fast ,as areas like Chiclana www.chiclana.to and Novo Sancti Petri www.novosanctipetri.to gain popularity fast.

I would be interested in hearing any experiences from folks having purchased on the Atlantic coast around Algeciras, Barbate, Conil, Cadiz, Jerez & Huelva etc. Prices, new devs, agents, contacts, web sites and.........what do you think of it compared to "the costas" and Balearics etc. Any help would be much appreciated.
