Being outside the phone service area is no longer a barrier to receiving fast broadband internet access. Thanks to the high-speed ONE-WAY and TWO-WAY satellite broadband services connections are available even where a telephone line isnt. Connect to the Internet via our satellite and you will never look back. Web pages, programs, multimedia will download to your computer in a fraction of the time taken by modems and even ISDN / ADSL connections.

Hello all, and specially rodcowan,
I am spanish and work for a spanish builder and developer who sells properties through offices but also through the net. Two years ago we renewed our internet site and we keep updating it today. Because of that I can say that, yes, , I have met people who have found their home here on the net. Saludos, Mayvi

to: Darshan. Well, I have to tell you no all the agents are the same. I have a web page about properties in Almuñécar, La herradura, and arounds. And we dont have prices from 1999... and we only prepare the pictures when they need bright or contrast. I'm sure, the problem is not us. The problem is people who think: 'I can sell my house more expensive than my neighbour'. If we dont have your ideal property its because this kind of people want a lot of money. (who not?, yes I know). But if your house cost 300.000 why are you going to sell your house in 400.000 , if your house dont cost that?
To say that, Darshan, you have to visit too many webs about properties.
Well, its a pleasure talk in this forum. I like to know the opinions about spain and people.
(Remember: if you need a house, countryhouse, townhouse, villa, chalet, flat, plot, everything you are looking for, ask me, maybe I have something for you. I tell you this, because we have too many clients selling theirs Townhouses and countryhouse)
I hope you understand me.

The internet is useful only if you know what your looking for. I found this little gem (far from little)on the internet quiet easy http://luz.intrasat.es by typing in real estate, Andalucia,
There are loads of estate agents not all of them are good, some are bad. There is a new site just started by a guy called Ted Piddle (Honest!)http://blacklist.spain.com it might be worth keeping an eye on. So, yes, the internet can be very useful

The issue of evaluation is a BIG one !! and has ported across the boundries between the online and offline worlds. The spanish property market ( atleat on the Costa's ) is incredibly fragmented --- very few major players exist, a second tier of multi-site operations co-exist above a massive amount of smaller agents and 'one man bands'. The quality, integrity and knowledge varies wildly on every above mentioned level.
Equally in the Internet marketing world for Spanish property there is a top layer of some excellent, informative and regularly updated sites,a second tier of smaller but well produced and maintained sites and a vast multitude of small sites.

Thanks for your comment, too, Darshan. I guess the same problem applies to print material e.g. photographic images can be easily manipulated to make that toxic dump disappear pretty quick. The issue here is that it costs money to print brochures or place adverts, and not so much to launch a website. So far, I would have to say there is a lot out there, but not that much that is terribly good or helpful (this message board being a rare exception, and not everyone understands how to use them). Any further thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks for that Conor. When I get into the piece in a couple of weeks, I will get back to you. I agree with your sentiments, the problem is not everyone knows how to use this marvelous tool (if they did, scribes such as myself would be earning less than we already do!)
The biggest issue is how to evaluate a site, since there appears to be no standards or governing body and vey little barrier to entry (you can kick off a site for as little as $US 300, if you don't have the programming skills.

The internet is now the medium of choice for many when searching for a property, and ofcourse when it comes to looking for a overseas property, provides an insight and access to information that would otherwise require a plane ticket to obtain.
Of course it is not perfect, there are websites that are out of date, provide misleading or inaccurate information but if you understand the medium and use it as it was originally conceived, as a research tool ther is a wealthn of information that can be gleamed.
rodcowan if there is specific information that you require please feel free to contact me directly.

From a property sellers perspective the internet only offers a 2 dimensional view of a property. the house can look great, but the camera wont show the toxic dump next door!
aLSO, Agents are notoriosly bad at keeping the web up to date, so buyers see a unavailable property with 1999 prices and get upset when they are shown similar at higher prices
