A warm welcome to the Costa Calida. The Costa Calida is situated in the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula. To the north lies the Costa Blanca and to the south lies the Costa de Almeria with a total of 250 kilometers of coastline.
Blessed by the mild Mediterranean climate it has at least 315 days of sun per year. Minimum temperatures range between 12-14C and maximum temperatures between 20-22C in winter. Summer temperatures vary between 18-20C minimum and between 30-35Cmaximum. The average annual temperature is 18C.
The Mar Menor, Europe's largest salt water lagoon, over 170 square kilometres of shallow water surrounded by the districts of San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera, Los Alcazares and La Manga to name just a few. Cartagena is worth a special mention because of its historical interest. This town was for more than two thousand years a strategic Mediterranean port, surrounded by fortifications it encloses numerous fine archaeological remains.
La Manga Club with five 18-hole courses is one of the world's great resorts. A luxurious playground has been shaped on 1400 acres of lush, rolling countryside scattered with thousands of palm trees and surrounded by lemon groves. Courses include Club de Golf Altoreal, La Manga Club, Club de Golf Las Ramblas de Orihuela, Club de Golf Torrepacheco and the ever popular Campo de Golf Villamartin.
The Costa Calida matches the Costa Blanca on the amount and standard of its marinas and port facilities. The area of La Manga especially has one of the highest concerntrations of nautical clubs, yachting paraphenalia and exotic water sports in the whole of Spain. Combined with this region's exceptional climate and warm seas, its no wonder its regarded as the closest thing to sailing paradise in the resplendent Mediterranean.

Sailing has always been intimately linked to the history of Torrevieja, as this town still exported salt to Cuba from its local salt flats using sailing boats in the early 20th century, which then returned home full of sugar cane for local use. The yacht club has magnificent installations with a social building.

Lying under the shelter of the Cabo Roig (red cape), from which it receives its name, this small dockyard presents a well-tended and inviting image. In addition to port services, it has a small social club and a light sailboat and windsurfing school that opens in summer.

This dock takes advantage of a small inlet on the coast, a mole called Punta Horadada, from which a breakwater has been built, with an entry from the south. In addition to typical port services, it has a social club and a café. A small beach at La Mojón, nearby, constitutes a natural boundary with Murcia.
