The
Costa Calida has possibly the best climate of all the costas. It is possible to find quiet unspoilt beaches, small resorts, and to the north, the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon separated from the sea by a 30km stretch of sand. Being separated, the Mar Menor can be at a higher temperature than the Mediterranean and has a higher level of salts thought to have beneficial effects. The Costa Calida is serviced to some degree by Murcia airport, less than 1 hours drive to all parts of Costa Calida or
Alicante airport which is 1 - 1.5 hours drive to the north of Costa Calida.
