Golf on the Costa Almeria Golf

This spectacular Moorish fortress town stands on a towering crag overlooking a shore graced by pristine beaches and the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean, which has a curious distinction all of its own: American cartoonist Walt Disney is said to have been born here, before emigrating with his parents to the United States. Mojacar hosts Club de Golf Cortijo Grande, with its elegant Andalucian style clubhouse, and Club Marina Golf Mojacar which has greens right on the sea.

The village of Garrucha has still retained much of its original character, with its Moorish fortress called El Torreón and the Arch of Luciana, as well as the honeycomb of whitewashed, winding streets, each of which seems to lead the traveller to a lookout over the sparkling Mediterranean. Garrucha is very close to both Mojacar and Vera and the excellent courses that are there.

Situated near Mojacar between Garrucha and Villaricos fishing villages. This undiscovered part of Spain has escaped the dense development of high rise apartment blocks and crowded beaches, normally associated with Spanish resorts. About two thirds of the 7-8km long sandy beach at Vera Playa is an official naturist beach. Vera is home to the spectacular Desert Springs Golf Club a true Arizona desert style course, and the absolutely fabulous Valle del Este Resort.
