(Valencia) Caxton College is a private mixed British school, founded in 1987 thanks to the initiative of a Valencian family. Currently, the school has children from 2 to 18 years old.
In Caxton College the British National Curriculum is followed, together with studies of Spanish language and culture (History, Geography and Spanish Language). This way, the pupils learn in English from the age of three and when they complete their studies in the centre they know three, four or even five languages: English, Spanish, German, Valencian and French (the last two being optional).
Information Technology forms an integral part of the curriculum and from a very early age the boys and girls at Caxton use computers to become familiar with this tool of work. Other activities such as ballet, music, tennis, mini-golf, judo, cookery, typewriting, art, sewing, drama, chess, skating, paddle tennis, form part of a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Caxton College is located in Puçol, 3 kilometres from the coast, in an ideal climatic environment, 19kms from Valencia and 46kms from Castellon on the Mediterranean motorway. The school is very spacious (26.000m2 of land and11.700m2 of buildings) which together with the gymnasium (500m2), the sportsfields (paddle tennis, mini-golf, tennis, five-a-side, handball, basketball, volleyball, skating, tatamis ... ) and the semi-olympic swimming pool, make Caxton College an incomparable place for the education of your children.
Moreover, the school provides a bus service, dining room with kitchen, educational psychologist, medical assistance, hairdressing service, organisation of birthday parties, nursery with special timetables, cafeteria, shop?. A complete programme is also offered for Saturday and Summer schools (English, German, French, computer studies, sports, workshops?)
The academic year is divided into three terms. It begins in September and ends in June. The school day is from 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The school prepares its students for IGCSE examinations at 16 and subsequently A-levels at 18 enabling students to gain access to universities throughout the world. We also prepare students for "Selectividad" which leads to entry specifically into Spanish universities.
