The marina is surrounded by 2 commercial grade ports managed by the Almeria Port Authority. The Port of Hisalba, nowadays Holcim (Spain) S.A., was opened in 1977, as a port to export cement produced by the nearby factory. The Port of Purcasa, which is now Endesa Generación S.A., was opened in 1982, as an entry point of the coal for the power station. The port is mainly for fishing and commercial use.
