 Vilanova is sandwiched between two well known Spanish Cities, Barcelona and Tarragona. Barcelona is around 40 kms to the north and the lesser know city of Tarragona is around 50kms to the south.
Traditionally the area has relied on agriculture and wine but this has changed in recent times and industry now plays an important part in the economy of Vilanova.

The easiest way to get to Vilanova is by flying into either Barcelona Airport or Reus International Airports.
Barcelona Airport is only 40 kms to the north and there are an enormous amount of flights landing here each day from around the world.
Reus Airport is small in comparison and Ryanair are the main supplier of flights. They are able to offer regular, scheduled flights to Reus from Liverpool, Luton, Stansted, Dublin and Frankfurt. You will also find a good number of tour operators and charter airlines who have flights to Reus.
Reus Airport is a little further away from Vilanova but you can make the drive in around an hour.
The best way to enjoy your holiday in Vilanova and the Costa Dorada is by pre booking car hire from collection at the airport. This will also save you a few euros in airport transfers to and from Vilanova.
