 Located on the north eastern coast of Spain, Tarragona is both the southern most province of Catalonia and the Costa Dorada?s principle City.
The actual City of Tarragona is steeped in history with a large amount of Roman ruins, an old Jewish quarter and a busy fishing and yachting harbour.
You will be able to find Tarragona just 100 south of the buzzing city of Barcelona 230 kms to the east of Madrid and if you are touring by car, 400 kms north from Alicante.
Ryanair now offer cheap, no thrills flights in Reus Airport which is just 20 away from Tarragona or you could fly into Barcelona Airport and drive down to Tarragona. The drive from Barcelona should take around 1 hour to 1 and a half hours along a fairly good stretch of the Autopista (motorway).
The Tarragona coastline offers some excellent beaches with good gently sloping beaches providing safe and enjoyable bathing conditions. Most of the beaches are made up of fine white sand.
You will also find the usual selection of water sports available on a lot of the beaches including wind surfing, water skiing and snorkeling.
