An exclusive, private estate at the Southern tip of Spain Sotogrande is much quieter and more relaxed than the coasts other main marinas at Puerto Banus and Marbella.
You can reach Sotogrande by flying into Gibraltar, Jerez or of course Malaga Airport.
Malaga Airport offers an astonishing number of flights on a daily basis and the drive form the Airport to Sotogrande is around 90 kms and should take around 90 minutes.
Our advice is to use the Toll road whenever possible during your drive to Sotogrande, although this will cost between ?7 and ?10 each way depending on the time of year it is money well spent.
The closest Airport to Sotogrande is Gibraltar, but the only flights in and out of Gibraltar are to Manchester and Gatwick. These flights are operated daily by BA and Monarch and could be worth further investigation.
The only disadvantage is that you have to go through border control between Gibraltar and Spain although the queues are normally very small if you are on foot. If you intend to get a taxi it is best to walk across and get a taxi on the Spanish side.
If you live near Stansted another option is to fly to Jerez with Ryanair. Although slightly further away it is a pleasant drive with some great scenery and should take less than two hours from Jerez to Sotogrande.
The marina at Sotogrande is well established and is home to a wide selection of luxury yachts and motor boats. There is currently a lot of residential development going on around the port with the development of low rise, luxury apartment blocks with private moorings.
