 Reus is on the Costa Dorada which in turn is on Spain's north eastern coast. It's about 10 kms from the sea and only 10 kms away from the historic city of Tarragona.
The weather in this part of Spain is fantastic, with warm summer days and nights and cool winters when the temperatures hardly ever dip below freezing.
Reus also has a busy airport
In fact most package holiday tourists land at Reus Airport. Just recently Ryanair have started flying to Reus Airport from the UK and Ireland and it can be a cheap way of getting to Barcelona except that the drive from Reus to Barcelona is 125 kms!
From Reus you are within easy reach of the tourist resort of Salou which offers a bustling resort with street markets, long beaches and a lively nightlife.
Another attraction that you can find close by is Port Aventura. This huge, sprawling theme park is owned by Universal Studios and will take you at least a day to get around. It?s around 15 kms from Reus and if you are driving there is plenty of parking on offer.
For us it?s also worth making the trip to Barcelona. Simply get into your hire car, head for the Autopista (motorway) and it?s a straight 1½ to 2 hour drive up to Barcelona.
Reus is well situated and has enough things to keep you and your family busy but we would recommend getting a rental car to make sure you see and experience everything on offer.
