The capitol City of the Costa del Sol Malaga is perhaps not on everyone?s must visit lists when they come to the Costa del Sol.
When you arrive at Malaga Airport most people turn left and head for the beaches. I admit that the area around the Airport does little to entice you into the City but I think that is the same everywhere.
If you do happen to venture into Malaga City itself you may be surprised to find some beautiful buildings set on palm tree lined roads and a collection of narrow, cobbled streets that are home to some fabulous cafes, restaurants and boutiques.
Malaga City also has its fair share of beaches as well and if you fancy a weekend break that is a bit different then why not give it a go.
Malaga Airport is only 10 kms outside the City and has just announced a record breaking 12 million passengers passed through its doors last year. Combine that with the shear volume of flights to Malaga from the UK each day and you have the chance for a great weekend break at some great prices.
If you do find yourselves at a loose end after looking around the shops, the newly opened Picasso Museum, eating and sitting on the beaches then why not jump into your rental car and head off to explore the rest of the Costa del Sol. You can drive the length of the coast from Malaga past Marbella and onto Gibraltar in less than 90 minutes.
