The Costa del Sol is a strip of coast line that runs across Spain most southerly points.
It stretches from Nerja in the East to Gibraltar in the west and has the best climate and the more sunshine than any other part of Europe.
For many people nowadays a trip to the Costa del Sol involves booking their holiday's independently and not using the traditional method of a tour operator or package holiday company.
If you are one of the many tourists who are now opting to book their own holidays then whether to book car rental or not will play a major part of the decision making process.
Costa del Sol car rental is prolific and there are simply an enormous amount of companies, both large and small who are able to offer some really tempting deals.
Driving on the Costa del Sol is not as scary as it used to be. The roads have improved and the new E15/A-7 autopista that stretches from Malaga to Gibraltar has not only speeded up the travel time along the coast but it has made it a far safer drive as well.
Our top tip and leading piece of advice for any car driver is to plan your route. If you are staying between Fuengirola and Gibraltar then take the Toll Road as well. The costs are ¬3.20 in the winter and ¬5.15 in the summer but you know that the money is well spent when you see an empty road with no hold ups!
