Chiclana is in the Province of Cadiz which in turn is part of the region of Andalusia in southern Spain. Its very close to the most southern part of Spain and is actually on the Atlantic coast not the Mediterranean.

Both Jerez and Seville are close to Chiclana. Jerez is less than 45 minutes away by car whilst Seville is around an hour and a halfs drive away. Both of these wonderful Spanish Cities are worth a visit if you are staying in Chiclana.

Chiclana is also part of the Costa de la Luz which is not nearly as well known as its nieghbour, the Costa del Sol. This beautiful part of Spain has some great beaches and has so far escaped the over development and mass tourism that many other parts of Spains coastline has suffered from.

The Cost de la Luz also includes the towns of Zaraha de lo Atunes, Tarifa and Conil de la Frontera as well as Chiclana.

If you can pull yourself away from the sandy beaches and head inland you will be meet by some wonderful scenery, green meadows, large lakes and fine Oak woods are on offer wherever you go. Some of the local vineyards also produce some fine wines.

The busy little town of Chiclana is actually 6 kms inland from the coast and has a wide choice of shops, bars and some great restaurants. You need to remember that the Siesta is still observed each afternoon!

The whole area of Chiclana and the Costa de la Luz needs to be enjoyed and explored and we really feel that you need a good car to do this.
