Salobrena is just a forty five minute drive from Granada Airport and about 1½ hours from Malaga Airport(100kms).

It is also well placed for the Sierra Nevada Mountains which are home to Europes southerly most Ski resort.

The Moorish castle which sits on the rocks above Salobrena was constructed in the 10th Century has some wonderful views.

The whole area around Salobrena has large Sugar Cane Plantations along with large orchards of sub tropical fruit trees.

The local Tourist Office provides guided tours of the town and castle and these are an excellent way to gain insights into how the people of the town and surrounding areas lived in years gone by.

Salobrenas modern developments and town spread out from beneath the rock and the number of residents has increased to around 11,000 people in recent years. Within this area you will find the heart and soul of the town with plenty of places to eat and drink.

You can play Golf or Tennis. Follow some fantastic mountain bike trails or hit the beach for some serious snorkeling. An artificial reef has been built just off shore form the large Penon (rock) and is a safe and wonderful way to watch the sealife.
