 Roses is a quiet, relaxed and peaceful holiday resort at the northern tip of the Costa Blanca and the far north eastern edge of Spain.
Located in an ideal spot for exploring the Costa Brava Roses is only 65 kms from Girona and Girona International Airport, 30 kms from the French border and 160 kms from Barcelona.
To get to Roses the obvious choice of airport is Girona where you can transfer to Roses in around an hour. Girona Airport though is limited to a handful of flights that are laid on by Ryanair and a number of charter flights during the busy summer months.
You could also fly into Barcelona International Airport but the transfers north to Roses can take a few hours. The obvious advantage of flying into Barcelona is the shear volume of flights and airlines that fly there each day from all over Europe and the UK.
The third option could be to fly into Perpignan Airport which is just inside the French border and to drive down to Roses. This journey shouldn?t take much more than an hour and is a worthy alternative.
When you get to the town of Roses you will be greeted by a fine Mediterranean town which is home to the largest fishing fleet on the Costa Brava. The old fishing port sits right alongside the glistening Yacht Marina where motor boats of all sizes and shapes jostle for a mooring.
To the south of Roses you can find large, sweeping sandy beaches that provide near perfect bathing conditions. To the north there are a series of rocky coves forming safe little swimming bays that are ideal for snorkeling.
