The swanky resort of Puerto Banus is around halfway between Malaga and Gibraltar. Famed for attracting the rich and famous Puerto Banus also offers some of the best shopping on the Costa del Sol.

In recent years Puerto Banus has expanded from a three street marina to an International Resort Town.

It is home to the five storey Department Store, El Corte Ingles, and an indoor shopping complex called Marina Banus.

Dotted around the Marina are tons of restaurants and cafes. During the evenings in high season it is essential to book a table at any restaurant that takes your fancy. Our advice is to spot the restaurant during the day and make a booking for that night.

From Puerto Banus you can drive through Golf Valley and up to the remote hillside village of Istan.

Golf Valley is in Nueva Andalucia just 1km back from the seafront at Puerto Banus. It is home to five golf courses including Los Naranjos which also serves fantastic food all day long.

The village of Istan, about 30 minutes drive into the Mountains directly behind Golf Valley and Puerto Banus offers an experience that is in complete contrast to that of Puerto Banus.

In Istan the people sit outside their doorways chatting whilst looking across valleys that are full of fruit and Almond trees. Donkeys walk by and you have the feeling that you are far far away from the crowds that can fill the Costal Towns and in particular the glitz that Puerto Banus offers.
