Huelva, both the Province and City has a lot to offer but is little known to many of Spains tourists.
You will find Huelva in the far south western corner of Spain, on its border with Portugal and at the location where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic.
The beaches are in my opinion some of the best in Spain. They offer long sandy stretches that are often unspoilt and deserted. Tarifa in particular is home to a large contingent of wind and kite surfers.
The main way to get to Huelva is by flying into either Seville Airport or Jerez Airport but it is worth considering flying into Faro in Portugal and crossing the border.
Both Jerez and Seville airports receive flights from Ryanair and although at the moment the service is limited it is set to expand in the future.
You will also find a large number of national parks in Huelva with extensive pinewoods and rolling hills that are a far cry from the crowds that you find in the rest of Spain.
The actual City of Huelva can trace its routes back over 3000 years and today the City is home to around 140,000 people and is a large, Industrial Town with a charming City Center.
The main points of interest in Huelva are the 15th Century San Pedro Church and the home of Spains great explorer, Christopher Columbus.
The area of Huelva is a vast area that needs exploring by car and in our opinion the only way to get around is by having your own hire car.
We have found Car-Hire.es the offer the best deals on all Huelva Car hire.
