Granada Airport is not one of Spain's largest airports and in 2004 it handled around 590,000 passengers. This number will rise in 2005 as Ryanair have now started a daily service to Granada from Liverpool and London Stansted.
You will find Granada Airport just 16km west of the City in a little town called Santa Fe,
Within the airport itself you will find some fairly basic services including a good shop and a café/restaurant that serves drinks and snacks throughout the day.
The journey into town is a short one and you have the choice of taking a regular Granada Airport taxi or jumping on the Airport bus.
You can locate the Taxi rank at Granada Airport just outside of the main terminal building and the journey into the center of Granada should cost no more than ¬20. If you are heading up into the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the busy Ski resort then allow around ¬75 for the trip.
Granada Airport Buses depart to the City center from outside the main terminal building at 0905, 1030, 1135, 1205, 1535, 1605, 1735, 1845 and 1905 each day. There are changes to these schedules on weekends and Public Holidays.
From Granada Airport you can transfer up into the glorious Sierra Nevada Mountains or drive the 70kms down to the coast and then you have the choice of heading east and driving along the Costa Tropical or heading west towards the Costa del Sol.
The easiest and cheapest way to transfer from Granada Airport and explore the Costa Tropical is by hiring a car. We have found that Car-Hire.es offer the best deals on all Granada Car Hire.
