 Estartit is a popular tourist resort with wide, long sandy beaches and set up high on the Costa Brava coast near the border with France.
Over the years Estartit has been a popular family holiday destination and offers a wide range of accommodation, from good quality Hotels and Apartments through to private rental villas and a couple of large campsites.
There is a wide selection of restaurants, bars and discos in Estartit and over the busy summer months the town is alive at all times of the day. If you head down to the main beach you can sun loungers laid out under shades and Estartit also has a small marina and fishing harbor where fresh fish is landed daily.
You will find Estartit fairly easy to get from the UK with a choice of three airports to fly into. You can fly into Perpignan in France, Girona or even Barcelona.
The last time that I went to Estartit we flew into Barcelona and the drive north took a while, around 1½ hours, but the roads were quiet and although we took the Autopista the scenery was good.
If you live near Blackpool, Bournemouth, East Midlands, Liverpool, Stansted or Luton then Ryanair have a large number of flights into Girona Airport which is only around 50 kms from Estartit.
As Estartit is a fair way from any of the airports and because there are some great places to get out and see then I would recommend organizing your car hire for collection at the airport that you fly into.
