Almunecar can be found overlooking the Mediterranean and is though to be the prettiest spot on the little known Costa Tropical.

Mountains form the back drop of Almunecar and the whole lush area enables avocados, custard apples, mangos, papayas and Bananas to grow here.

Almunecar has a wonderful, mild year round temperature with the temperature dial rarely falling below 18C in the winter.

You can find Almunecar on the Costa Tropical which is in the Province of Granada in Andalucia, Southern Spain. Almunecar is roughly 75 kms from Granada and 85 kms from Malaga.

You cant get flights to Almunecar; you have to fly into either Granada Airport or Malaga Airport. Granada Airport now has daily Ryanair flights from Liverpool and London Stansted. Malaga Airport on the other hand is a busy tourist airport and is very easy to get to from anywhere in the UK or Europe.

You cannot get the train from Malaga or Granada to Almunecar as there is not a train line and taking a bus from either of these airports would involve at least one if not two changes.

Therefore you must transfer from Malaga Airport or Granada Airport to Almunecar by taxi or your own vehicle.

If you do take a taxi then expect the fare to be in the region of ¬80 from Granada and around ¬90-100 from Malaga.

Once in Almunecar you may want to get out and about exploring this un spoilt and undeveloped coastline. In order to do this and to save a few euros on expensive airport transfers to and from Almunecar we suggest that you hire a car.
