They call the Canaries "The Land of Eternal Spring". The sub-tropical climate is regulated by the Gulf Stream and Trade Winds and any time of year is a good time to visit with guaranteed sunshine, virtually no rainfall and non-stop tourist activity. Each island is serviced by its own airport. See here all the Canary Islands Airports.

Tenerife Hotels
Tenerife shares, with the other Islands, one of the most pleasant and mildest climates in the world, and is the holiday destination for four million visitors a year. Under the attentive gaze of El Teide, the highest mountain in Spain, and with the sea as an ever-present background, the most significant feature of Tenerife is the wealth and diversity of its landscape and micro-climates.

Fuerteventura Hotels
Fuerteventura, like the rest of the Canary islands, was inhabited by a primitive pagan people prior to its invasion by Europeans, although what to call this ancient people still remains a contentious issue. Most Canarians call their ancestors 'Guanches' although strictly speaking this refers to a specific tribe from Tenerife. 'Mahorero' is still used today to describe the people of Fuerteventura.

Gran Canaria Hotels
With its endless sandy beaches, dramatic mountainous interior, desert like dunes and acres of lush green vegetation, Gran Canaria is the most scenic of the Canary Islands. Although smaller than both Tenerife and Fuerteventura it is, nonetheless, home to half the entire population of the archipelago. Its superb climate and diversity of natural features has helped make it one of the most popular year-round holiday destinations.

Lanzarote Hotels
In 1987 Lanzarote was declared one of the six universal models of sustainable development by the World Tourism Organization and in 1994 it was declared a Reserve of the Biosphere by UNESCO. Lanzarote is the most easterly of the seven major Canary Islands and lies in the Atlantic Ocean only some 100 km (60 miles) from the coast of Africa and 1,000 km from the Iberian Peninsula.

La Palma Hotels
La Palma is known in Spanish as "the green island" or "the beautiful island". Come here for the mountains and nature - less so the beaches. More like a Caribbean island blown off course, with green-clad mountains soaring above oceans of sweet bananas and vineyards. La Palma has the greatest altitudes in the world relative to its perimeter. For lazy days by the coast try Puerto de la Palma on the west coast or Playa de Los Cancajos beach.

La Gomera Hotels
From Tenerife, La Gomera sits on the horizon like half a walnut shell, crowned by a heavily-forested central massif Alto de Garajonay (National Park) and fringed by deep ravines. There are no decent beaches: the abrupt coast is mainly sheer cliffs and the interior is so mountainous that the islanders have a special whistling language to communicate across the gorges.
