The British School Alzira Costa Blanca Spain

(Valencia) The British School Alzira was opened in 1997 and at present caters for pupils from eighteen months to ten years old. By the year 2010 the school will be offering a British education to pupils from pre ? nursery to eighteen years old. Fully authorised by the appropiate British and Spanish ministries, the school offers a full British Curriculum to all pupils. B.S.A is situated between Alzira and Tavernes where the mountains make a magnificient backdrop to the four storey school building. Its three swimming pools, fullsized football pitch, large sports pavillion, offer excellent oportunities for sporting activities whilst its several playgrounds and gardens allow the children to enjoy extra outdoor activities.

The main aim of the school is to give the students the highest possible standard of education in a caring, safe environment. To achieve this the school employs fully qualified British teachers with many years experience both in Britain and Spain. Fully qualified teachers are employed to teach the required elements of the Spanish National Curriculum for British Schools. Teachers are supported throughout by an educational psychologist who is also a permanent member of staff.

The school teaches all subjects required by the British National Curriculum and uses the recently introduced National Literacy and Numeracy Framewok Strategies. All teaching is based on British published materials to ensure that the pupils achieve the best possible results in all subjects. Computer studies are carried out in a large computer suite with all pupils having controlled access to the internet.

The school philosophy is to offer a complete and personal education through positive motivation, whereby pupils can achieve a complete education not only in content but also in social and educational values.

Facilities: 60.000 m2 grounds, 5000 m2 school building, 600 m2 pavillion, 3 swimming pools, library, computer room, ballet room, judo area, art room, dinning room and kitchen and school transport.
