These modern installations contain one of the oldest yacht clubs in Spain. It has a long seafaring tradition and has been the home of big names in regattas. The club is at its busiest during the celebration of the trophy known as Trofeo Tabarca Ciudad de Alicante, which scores towards the Spanish Championship. It has a sailing school focusing mainly on cruisers, because the light sailboat school is based in the inlet known as the skeet shoot, La Cantera.
The Real Club of Regatas de Alicante awarded with the Blue Flag of the European Union, fulfills all the criteria of legality, health, cleanliness, security and environmental management that the Foundation of Environmental Education of Europe demands. This is an outstanding facility. Located not far away is Alicante Golf a modern, balanced course and was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and well worth a try.
